Getting Started

The aim of this blog is really to discuss the Bible from a literary-theological perspective. It will be my purpose to go through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, book by book, exploring the central message of each, as well as discussing different exegetical issues that may arise along the way. After spending much time in the Evangelical world, I have come to realize that the Bible is not really known. What I mean by that is that the messages of the individual books of the Bible have fallen by the wayside in a church that is content with its basic Christian understanding of the Bible. When a group such as this decides that "they know" what Christianity is all about, there is of course no more need to explore what they may be missing. It is my hope that this blog will be a witness to how much we still need to read and pay close attention to what the Bible really says.
